NCT Dream to drop new album this April, announces return of original member Mark
Some exciting news K-pop fans: NCT Dream is set to drop a new mini album titled "Reload" this April 29.
But that's not all — after this new release, one of the boy band's original members, Mark, will be returning!
Entertainment website Soompi shared a statement from SM Entertainment which confirmed the news, and bared future plans for the group’s current members Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle and Jisung, as well as its former member, Mark.
"...following the release of NCT Dream’s new album on April 29, after these album promotions, there will be a change in the system of the members graduating after becoming 20-years-old," SM said.
"The current members will not graduate, and including original member Mark, the seven members will carry out activities in a format like NCT U with the team name NCT Dream," it added.
For those who don't know, Mark took his leave from NCT Dream in 2018 since the group was operating on a system wherein members "graduate" by the time they turn 20.
But based on SM’s announcement, it looks like fans will be seeing a seven-member unit again.
Finally, SM announced that Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung will join as members of "new NCT teams" that will be launched in the future "based on the directions of their activities, and they will carry out global promotions."
NCT Dream made it to the top of the Philippine trends on Tuesday as their fans tried to process the recent development.
Nevertheless, SM Entertainment thanks all their fans, hoping they would continue to support their idols in their future activities.
“We express deep gratitude to the fans who show lots of support for NCT Dream, and we ask for continuous love and support for NCT Dream and the members. Thank you," the report said.
Earlier this year, NCT Dream held its first solo concert in Manila. Prior to this, five of its members had made their debut in the country in March 2019 at a music festival.
