Rizal's Avilon Zoo needs your help to keep feeding its animals during quarantine

The Avilon Zoo in Rizal is calling on the public to help them provide food and veterinary services for its animals.

"While under quarantine, we in AVILON ZOO exert our best effort to provide for the needs and welfare of all life under our care. We must admit though that it is quite challenging to maintain good quality animal care and veterinary services in this extraordinary time. We need your support," an announcement on the zoo’s Facebook page said.

Those who want to help can simply purchase an admission ticket here on their website.

Online admission tickets don’t expire, and the holder can use them on any date after the quarantine restrictions are lifted.

Tickets were being offered at a special price of P600 as of Thursday.

"Avail as much as you can and help us continue to provide for our animals and the people taking care of them. We greatly appreciate your kind support!" the zoo said.

According to its website, the Avilon Zoo is currently the largest zoological institution of the Philippines in terms of collection of live animals.

The 7.5-hectare facility in Rodriguez, Rizal houses more than 3,000 specimens exotic wildlife.

However, it remains one of the many businesses that halted operations in light of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
