Over 100 rescued dogs need help as shelters in Tarlac face closure

The Animal Kingdom Foundation in Capas, Tarlac, is calling on the public to help them provide food and shelter for more than 100 dogs under their care.

The animal rescue and rehabilitation center expressed concern over diminishing funds following the three-week extension of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Tarlac and other provinces last month.

AKF said they already made “drastic adjustments to stretch whatever donations we receive but, like other shelters around the world, we are feeling the insecurity of the future.”’

The foundation is currently caring for 140 rescued dogs and intensifying calls for online adoptions.

Cash donations can be made through their Paypal account, or any of the following bank accounts:

“What will happen in the coming months, we dread to think. As we have been saying all along, every centavo of your donations count,” the AKF said in a newsletter.

“As long as we have dogs in our care and supporters reporting activities of dog slaughter, AKF will never abandon the advocacy,” they added.

AKF also thanked families who came to the shelter to adopt animals amid the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. With their help, 10 rescued dogs found loving homes.
