'The King: Eternal Monarch' wraps up filming after 8 months

It's a wrap for "The King: Eternal Monarch" as the cast and crew finish filming after eight months.

Production company Hwa & Dam Pictures told Korean entertainment website Soompi that they have wrapped up filming for SBS and Netflix's fantasy drama series on Thursday.

"We would like to thank the cast and crew, who did their very best for the new and different parallel-universe fantasy romance 'The King: Eternal Monarch,' one more time for their toil," the company was quoted as saying.

"The drama’s unpredictable and endlessly eventful story will continue to unfold in the remaining four episodes. Please stay tuned until the very end," it added.

"The King: Eternal Monarch" first began filming in North Chungcheong Province in October 2019. The final scene with Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun was shot just this week.

The hit show, which airs every Friday and Saturday night on Netflix, only has four episodes left on its run. SBS also announced that the series finale will air this coming June 12.

The much awaited Episode 13 will be released tonight after it faced delays yesterday.
