Pia Wurtzbach reveals she felt pressure after winning Miss Universe ‘especially with the way it happened’

Pia Wurtzbach has revealed that she felt pressured after winning the Miss Universe crown in 2015.

In a series of “true or false” questions on her Instagram stories, Wednesday, a netizen asked Pia if it was true that she felt “an insane amount of pressure after winning Miss Universe.”

Pia answered that it was true. “Oo naman,” she said.

“I felt like it was the beginning of work and then I had to prove every day why I deserved that crown, especially with the way it happened,” the beauty queen added.

Much tension followed Pia’s coronation in 2015 when host Steve Harvey erroneously announced that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez Arévalo of Sincelejo, Colombia, was the winner of the 64th edition of the pageant. 

He apologized and said he read the wrong results, clarifying that it was Pia who won the Miss Universe crown. Ariadna then had to stand by as the crown was taken off of her and transferred to Pia.
