Meet the 3 anchors of GMA’s new local newscast ‘Balitang Bicolandia’
GMA Regional TV has gathered three promising journalists to bring viewers in Bicolandia the latest news and information.
Produced by Bicolanos for the Bicolanos, “Balitang Bicolandia,” which will premiere Feb. 1 at 5 p.m., will have the following anchors:
Rhayne Palino
Rhayne is known for her passion and courage in covering typhoons and other major calamities in Bicol.
After honing her skills in the local broadcasting industry, Rhayne Palino is ready to share stories of Bicolanos’ resilience and rich culture at the national level.
“Gusto ko talagang ma-highlight ’yung mga distinct problems and issues sa kanya-kanyang communities para maging platform itong media na ito para [makarating] doon sa authorities na ma-a-address ’yung pangangailangan nila,” Palino said.
Jessie Cruzat
Jessie started his career in broadcast journalism as a radio field news reporter.
After years of learning from the best, Cruzat is ready to co-anchor his own newscast, thanks to his strong background as a content creator, writer, and producer.
“We are here to tell stories—hindi lang po basta istorya, kung ’di totoong mga istorya dito sa Bicolandia na talaga namang dapat abangan ng mga kapwa Bicolanong Oragon,” Cruzat said. “As we believe local news matters, umasa po silang magiging objective ang paghahatid ng balita sa bawat tahanan ng Bicol.”
Katherine Henry
Katherine has gone from beauty queen to marine reservist and now local news presenter.
With her passion for storytelling, she aims to utilize her experience as a regional correspondent and travel show host in breaking hard-hitting news stories from Bicolandia.
“Dahil sanay na sa mga bagyo, naging hopeful lang po kami na after every typhoon, may need na bumangon kami agad,” Henry said. “So ’yun ‘yung representation of Bicolano, and I’m sure na ’yung mga Bicolano all over the world, excited sila and hungry sila sa balita dito sa aming rehiyon.”
Jessie, Rhayne, and Katherine will be bringing you Serbisyong Totoo on “Balitang Bicolandia” every Monday to Friday at 5 p.m. beginning Feb. 1. – RC, GMA News
