Sharon Stone reveals she was tricked into removing underwear for famous 'Basic Instinct' scene

Sharon Stone is spilling the tea in her memoir "The Beauty of Living Twice."

In an excerpt shared by Vanity Fair, the 63-year-old American actress detailed the experiences and #MeToo incidents she had to deal with as a woman in Hollywood.

For example, in the 1992 film "Basic Instinct," she was apparently misled into not wearing underwear for what would later turn out to be the film's most famous scene.

She said that during filming, she was told, "We can’t see anything—I just need you to remove your panties, as the white is reflecting the light, so we know you have panties on."

She added that she first saw her "vagina-shot" with a "room full of agents and lawyers, most of whom had nothing to do with the project."

"Yes, there have been many points of view on this topic, but since I’m the one with the vagina in question, let me say: The other points of view are bullshit," Sharon said.

Sharon recalled storming into the projection booth and slapping director Paul Verhoeven across the face, before going to her car and calling her lawyer Marty Singer.

"After the screening, I let Paul know of the options Marty had laid out for me," she recalled. "Of course, he vehemently denied that I had any choices at all. I was just an actress, just a woman; what choices could I have?"

"But I did have choices. So I thought and thought and I chose to allow this scene in the film. Why? Because it was correct for the film and for the character; and because, after all, I did it," she added.

"Basic Instinct" follows San Francisco police detective Nick Curran (Michael Douglas), who is investigating the brutal murder of a wealthy rock star. Curran becomes involved with the prime suspect, Catherine Tramell , played by Sharon.

The veteran actress also said that she was once asked to sleep with a male co-star so they could have "onscreen chemistry."

"I felt they could have just hired a costar with talent, someone who could deliver a scene and remember his lines. I also felt they could fuck him themselves and leave me out of it. It was my job to act and I said so," she said. "This was not a popular response. I was considered difficult."

"I’ve had other producers on other films just come to my trailer and ask, 'So, are you going to f-k him, or aren’t you? … You know it would go better if you did.' I take my time and explain that I am like the nice girl they grew up with, and get them to recall that girl’s name. This leaves us all with a little bit of our dignity," she added.

"The Beauty of Living Twice" will be released on March 30. —JCB, GMA News
