BTS Meal launch: McDonald’s says it coordinates with LGUs, barangays to ensure order, safety

McDonald’s Philippines has given assurance that the BTS Meal launch on Friday will be “smooth as butter” as they coordinate with local government units.

In an online press conference, Thursday, the fast food giant said they worked in close coordination with LGUs and barangays to ensure order and safety of customers, crew members, and delivery personnel.

“We proactively coordinated with different barangays and LGUs, informing them about the launch and asking for their assistance,” said Oliver Rabatan, McDonald’s Philippines’ assistant vice president for marketing and channels.

Rabatan also said they had prepared their kitchens to be able to cater to a high demand of orders swiftly and safely.

McDo Philippines’ project lead for the BTS Meal Ashley Santillan, meanwhile, said they had disseminated all the necessary protocols to all of their crew and branches.

All stores will have a queuing system, health declaration forms, and no touch policy. The staff and customers are also required to wear their face masks and shields.

On Thursday, fans known as ARMY shared on social media their excitement for the launch of the BTS Meal.

Last week, more than a dozen McDonald’s outlets in Indonesia were temporarily shuttered over virus fears as the new BTS meal deal sparked frenzied buying from fans. – RC, GMA News
