Tech-solutions company Dingdong PH and non-government organization YesPinoy Foundation, Inc. (YPF) have their eyes set on revolutionizing the delivery service industry.

According to a statement, they are set to launch a rider professionalization program that would qualify high-performing freelance Dingdong® Partner Riders into full-time, regularized Dingdong® Fleet Riders.

"Helping professionalize the delivery service industry has always been the priority ever since we started Dingdong® back in August 2020," said Dingdong® President and CEO, and YPF Chairman Dingong Dantes.

"We looked into the challenges and collaborated closely with our riders for us to come up with a solution and address their situation," he added.

The rider professionalization program will ultimately enable "high-performing" freelance partner riders to regular employees, the statement said.

Qualified riders will be entitled to basic government contributions, and are also covered by HMO, and life and accident insurances.

Other perks and allowances will also be provided to full-time and regular riders.

Riders will also be provided with "life-enhancement and skill-specific courses " through a comprehensive training program.

Prior to that, all applicants must first undergo a series of comprehensive courses that will "equip them with knowledge in road safety, proper package handling, first aid and emergency preparedness, tech literacy, customer service excellence, values formation, and even financial management, among others."

The transition and promotion will be based on the riders’ performance, behavior and commitment from the start of the first day of their deployment.

Dingdong PH is a start-up launched by Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes back in April.

It is a platform with three services including delivery, e-commerce, and marketplace.

Last May, the company's riders helped deliver relief goods to visually-impaired Filipino workers who have been displaced by the pandemic. —JCB, GMA News
