In an introduction video released by Miss Universe, the Philippine bet detailed a bit of her life while clad in a pinkish red outfit ahead of the pageant.

Among the information she shared was about her family, saying that she was raised by a single mom. To help with the expenses, she and her sister joined her school's volleyball varsity team.

"Being part of the volleyball varsity team is not just something that I take as an achievement, but it is something that really changed my life for the better," she said.

"I was able to help my mom in some way and I was able to make her proud," she added.

The Cebuana beauty queen said she is currently pursuing a degree in mass communication and also working in community development.

She is also a member of the Philippine Navy Marines Reserve Force.

"It was quite easy for me to do the physical training. It was physically challenging, but I was already an athlete before and I still continue to run at least five kilometers a day," she said.

Set to represent the country as the first openly out member of the LGBTQIA+ community to win the Miss Universe Philippines crown, Beatrice said she is very grateful.

"It's a big deal because we're here to give positivity and be an inspiration to the young children who are looking up to us—that they can be whoever they want to be when they grow up," she said.

Previously, Beatrice said that she's ready to represent the community on the international stage.

The 70th Miss Universe coronation night is on December 12 in Israel.
