Residents affected by Odette in Cebu, Palawan receive aid from GMA Kapuso Foundation

Residents affected by Typhoon Odette in Cebu and Palawan have received relief packages from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Catherine Mera, one of the residents in Argao whose houses were destroyed during the typhoon, said she and her family were staying in the barangay hall for the meantime.

“Siguro sir dito muna kami magpapalipas ng Christmas kasi hanggang ngayon wala pa rin pong bubong ang bahay namin,” she said.

Catherine and her family members were among the 1,670 typhoon victims in Argao and Dalaguete municipalities who had received food packs from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

GMA Kapuso Foundation also went to Palawan to distribute relief goods to those affected by Odette in San Vicente, Taytay, and Roxas towns.

Many residents have returned to repair and save what’s left of their damaged homes.

According to San Vicente municipal disaster risk reduction and management officer Orlando Estoya, the number of houses damaged were 174 while those partially damaged totaled 4,434.
