3 families affected by Typhoon Odette take refuge in room with damaged roof in Dinagat Islands

At least three families in San Jose, Dinagat Islands, who were affected by Typhoon Odette had taken refuge in a barangay stock room with a damaged roof.

According to “24 Oras” Thursday, the families with their children and babies had no choice because their homes were destroyed at the height of the typhoon.

The roof and the walls were torn off the house of Apple Lesaca, one of the evacuees. “Wala na po kaming matulugan kaya dito muna kami,” she said.

Margie Glico, meanwhile, said she didn’t get to sleep at all because it was raining and she had to take out the water that pooled on the floor in the stock room of Barangay Matingbe.

“Hirap talaga ma’am,” she said.

The three families were among the beneficiaries who received relief packages and hygiene kits from GMA Kapuso Foundation.

Apart from Dinagat Islands, GMA Kapuso Foundation has also distributed aid to Typhoon Odette victims in Bohol, Siargao, Limasawa Island, Cebu, and Negros Oriental.
