Pia Wurtzbach gets nostalgic about Binibining Pilipinas journey: 'Best years of my life'

Before the new Binibining Pilipinas queens were crowned on Sunday, they were able to spend some time with Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach.

In an Instagram post, Pia said she got sentimental when she went to Araneta City for their shoot.

“Nostalgia all over. So happy to be back after many years. Driving up to the KIA theater (where we were gonna shoot) and looking through the car window…seeing how everything looked familiar yet everything has changed. Every corner of Araneta reminded me so much of living there and working there,” she said.

“The journey wasn’t easy, but the life lessons you learn? Priceless,” she added.

Before she became Miss Universe 2015, Pia refused to give up on her dream and joined the Binibining Pilipinas pageant three times.

“I’ll always be grateful for [Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Incorporated (BPCI)] where I had some of the best years of my life,” she said. “Once a Binibini, always a Binibini.”

Nicole Borromeo from Cebu was crowned Binibining Pilipinas International on Sunday. Other titleholders are Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental Gabrielle Basiano, Binibining Pilipinas Globe Chelsea Fernandez, and Binibining Pilipinas Grand International Roberta Tamondong. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA News
