Is it true that cats can find their way back home after getting lost?

As explained by Kuya Kim on “24 Oras” Thursday, felines that go missing will most likely find their way back because these animals have a special ability called homing instinct.

Experts have many theories about this ability, one of which involves smell markers because cats have a well-developed sense of smell.

Meanwhile, Pawssion Project volunteer Raven Gomez appealed to the public to care for all kinds of cats, especially pusang Pinoy or puspins.

According to Raven, puspins or the breed known as domestic short-haired cats are properly cared for in Europe.

“Sila iyong mga breed na talagang inaalagaan ng mga tao doon, so ewan ko kung bakit grabe na iyong discrimination ng mga tao sa pusa dito sa Pilipinas,” she said.

“Wala naman siya sa breed. Capable sila of loving you. Kailangan lang talaga nila ng chance.”

Puspins or not, all kinds of cats were celebrated during International Cat Day last Monday. – RC, GMA News
