Jessica, Kara, Maki, Drew, and Atom explain why they’re #TatakPublicAffairs

In a short plug for their work in GMA Public Affairs' various programs and documentaries, five of GMA Network's esteemed journalists and documentarists are sharing what #TatakPublicAffairs means to them.

For Jessica Soho, the Philippines' most awarded journalist, it's not just about telling stories but affecting the lives of the people they reach. "Pag sinabi mong #TatakPublicAffairs, hindi lang tayo nagbabalita o nagkukuwento; we want to change lives, one episode at a time," she said.

Kara David, the country's premiere documentarist, says that the benefits go both ways. "Things do not stop pag sinabi ng director 'Cut,' tapos na," she said. "'Yung mga taong ini-interview natin, nagpapatuloy 'yung impact ng taong iyon sa buhay mo."

For fearless journalist Maki Pulido, #TatakPublicAffairs means stories with heart. "Dapat hindi mawawala 'yung passion na maikuwento mo kung ano yung pinagdaraanan ng mga kababayan natin," she said.

For Drew Arellano, adventurer for life, it's all about his unquenchable curiosity. "If you don't know something, just ask. So for the past 20 years, I've been asking. Until now, I'm still asking," he said.

And Atom Araullo, the truth seeker, finds that the reward is in the impact their work has on the lives of others. "Kahit isang tao lang iyan na nabago ang buhay dahil sa kuwento mo, I think it makes it worth it," he said. — BM, GMA News
