Stripes Run is back!

Families, sweethearts, and squads enjoyed a day of fun, good food and raising money for a good cause. Hundreds of participants from all ages and running experience trooped to McKinley West, Taguig City, some as early as 3 in the morning, to run for this win-win race.

Billed as McDonald’s Stripes Run, the fun run was headlined by none other than Ronald McDonald and the Gang.  “We are very excited to welcome back friends and families to our Stripes Run” said Meryl Adiel T. Hernandez, Corporate Relations Director of McDonald’s Philippines.

“We missed it because of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, and we are so happy we are back,” added Hernandez who assured the media their safety protocols or MSafe were in place for the safety of all attendees.

This year’s fun run had seven race categories for kids and adults. Participants received a race kit with a Stripes Run race shirt, race map, race bib. Food coupons for their favorite Sausage McMuffin and regular coffee were also included.  All finishers received a token and bag of giveaways.

As with the previous Stripes Run, money raised for this year’s event will help improve children’s literacy. A total of PhP 1M will be donated to its charity of choice.

“McDonalds Stripes run has been supporting the Ronald McDonald House of Charities particularly its program Read to Learn,” shared Hernandez. “Read to Learn is a program for the benefit of Grades 1 to 2 public school students in different elementary schools all over the country,” the Corporate Relations Director explained.

After the race, attendees spent time with their loved ones and enjoyed the free game booths.  They participated in various activities including a reading session with Ryan Agoncillo’s family.

Race winners were awarded by Ronald McDonald himself with the help of celebrities such as Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, Ysabel Ortega of Voltes V, Kokoy de Santos of the Running Man Philippines and Start-up PH lead actor Alden Richards.

“It’s been a while since our last Stripes Run. Thank you for always supporting McDonald’s” said Richards who also congratulated all the winners.
