5 words of wisdom from Boy Abunda in new interview with Bea Alonzo
Boy Abunda dished out plenty of wise words when he sat down for an interview in Bea Alonzo's latest vlog.
Bea turned the tables on the top talk show host and had him play a game very similar to his Fast Talk.
The King of Talk, however, proved that is good in both sides of the interview and gave a lot of sage advice that Bea thought can be published into a book.
Here are some of Tito Boy's words of wisdom.
1. Don't be afraid to go to the edge.
"Going to the edge is exciting, and jumping is doubly exciting and not knowing what's going to happen," Tito Boy said. "And I go through that even up to this very day. Every time you do a show, every time you begin a show, 'di mo naman lahat alam ng magaganap."
2. It's okay to live with regrets.
When Bea asked if he would rather live with regret or live with doubt, Tito Boy answered: "I confront my regrets."
"You have to be able to manage your regrets. Kailangan may pagdaanan kang regrets because regrets are tantamount to bad decisions, bad calls. May mga akala mo tama na hindi naman, learnings."
"I'm okay with my regrets," he said.
3. Don't obsess over past mistakes.
Bea also asked, "Remember your past mistakes or have no memory at all?"
"I want to remember, but I don't want to be obsessed by them," Tito Boy said.
4. Feeling pain and grief is also okay.
"I have come to terms with the pain of losing nanay who was, is the center of my life because that pain connects me to her up to this very moment so I don't want to lose it," Tito Boy said.
5. Every job has an important role to play.
As a talk show host and celebrity interviewer, Tito Boy takes his job seriously.
He shared that he realized what role interviewers like him play when he saw an interview of actress Bette Davis with Dick Cavett.
"My movies cannot tell my story," he recalled Bette tell Dick. "Half of who I am, people know because of people like you."
Boy said it was a moment of epiphany for him.
"Ah, okay. 'Yun pala rin 'yung role namin so I take so much responsibility in what I do."
Together with his staff, he said, "We prepare like actors. Nagtatrabaho kami. We research, we make calls. 'Di ako tamad na host."
Tito Boy's "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" just finished its pilot week and it had a great start with its star-studded guest lineup of Marian Rivera, Glaiza De Castro, Alden Richards, Paolo Contis, and Bea herself.
Bea answered several tough questions, such as whether or not she can be friends with ex-boyfriend Gerald Anderson.
In the same episode, Boy also apologized to Bea over his 2021 interview with Gerald.
"Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" airs on weekdays at 4:05 p.m. on GMA.
