Herlene Budol says she thought about quitting Miss Grand Philippines due to bashers

Herlene Budol said she already thought about quitting Miss Grand Philippines after bashers commented cruelly about her performance in the competition.

On Wednesday's episode of "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda," the beauty queen said she's been second-guessing herself because of people's negative thoughts about her.

"Until now, iniisip ko pa rin kung deserve ko pa rin bang sumali after ng mga sinasabi sakin ng mga tao," she said.

Herlene said her bashers negatively affected her mental health.

"Umabot po sa punto na hindi ako nakakatulog, hindi ako nakakapag-cell phone, dinelete ko po lahat ng apps ko sa cellphone ko at hindi na rin po ako [nakakain] ng 2 days po ah," she said.

"First time po kasi na ganun kadami ['yung bashers]," she added. "'Yung mental health ko noon, zero talaga."

But according to Herlene, she isn't backing down from the competition.

"Naisip ko rin kung mag-back out ako dito, parang sinabi ko sa kanila na 'yung inspirasyon na sinasabi ko, mawawala po," she said.

"Kung lumaban ako ngayon, win or lose, at least 'yung tinatawag nilang inspirasyon, lumalaban ka hanggang dulo," she added.

Earlier this month, Herlene announced that she passed the first screening of Miss Grand Philippines.

She also gave a preview of her new pasarela walk, dubbed as "Grand Budol Walk."

Herlene was the first runner-up in the Binibining Pilipinas pageant last year and garnered seven special awards.

She currently stars in GMA Afternoon Prime series "Magandang Dilag," which airs at 3:20 p.m. after "Abot-Kamay Na Pangarap."
