Mike Enriquez honored with posthumous award from VACC


Mike Enriquez received a posthumous award from the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC) during its 25th founding anniversary.

According to a report on "24 Oras," Monday, the late GMA Network pillar was recognized for his contributions to fighting crime and seeking justice in the Philippines as a television and radio broadcaster.

Enriquez was a "24 Oras" anchor and hosted the GMA Public Affairs program "Imbestigador."

Other Kapuso personalities who received major awards for media include Emil Sumangil and Jun Veneracion.

DZBB Super Radyo hosts Henry Atuelan, Glen Juego, Rene Sta. Cruz, and Rod Vega, and Quezon Province Correspondent Peewee Bacuño Jr. also received special awards.

Enriquez passed away in August at the age of 71. His death was emotionally announced by "24 Oras" co-anchor Mel Tiangco.

Tributes poured in from his media colleagues, government officials, and celebrities following the news.
