Jaclyn Jose's 'Ma' Rosa' to be screened in India

"Ma' Rosa" starring the late Jaclyn Jose will be screened at New Delhi, India.

On Facebook, the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) said that the award-winning movie will have an outdoor screening at the Philippine Embassy in India on April 26.

The screening will be held at the Embassy Lawn Area in New Delhi at 7:00 p.m (India Time).

"Ma' Rosa" is a 2016 Filipino drama film directed by renowned filmmaker Brillante Mendoza. It follows the struggles of a family who resorts to reselling small amounts of narcotics to make ends meet. When they're arrested, Rosa's children are determined to do whatever it takes to secure their parents' freedom from the corrupt police.

"Ma' Rosa" is one of Jaclyn's most critically acclaimed films, which earned her the Best Actress award at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival for her role as Rosa. She became the first Filipino and Southeast Asian actress to win such an award.

FDCP recently bestowed the Honorary Distinction Award to the late actress during their "Parangal ng Sining" on April 19.

According to the film council, Jaclyn has "cemented her legacy as one of the most distinguished actresses in the country."

Jaclyn died on March 2 at 60 years old. Her daughter Andi Eigenmann revealed in a press conference that she died due to a heart attack.
