Pelicula Spanish Film Festival spotlights sports in 4 movie screenings

The Pelicula Spanish Film Festival is here!

The first leg of the film fest this Olympic year kicked off on Thursday and will run until May 26 at the Red Carpet Cinema, Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong, as announced by the Instituto de Cervantes Manila on social media.

The free film fest brings to the public four Spanish films that center on sports and the human spirit. The films are Javier Fesser's "Campeonex" (2023), David Serrano's "Días de fútbol" (2003), Juan Jose Campanella's "Futbolín" (2013), and Daniel Sanchez Arebalo's "La gran familia española" (2013).

Those who wish to watch the free films over the weekend must take note of the screening and ticket distribution schedule.

May 24

  • "La gran familia española" - 5:30 p.m.
  • "Campeonex" - 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will be distributed from 4:30 p.m. onwards.

May 25

  • "Futbolín" - 5:30 p.m.
  • "La gran familia española" - 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will be distributed from 4:30 p.m. onwards.

May 26

  • "Futbolín" - 3 p.m.
  • "Campeonex" - 5:30 p.m

Tickets will be distributed from 2 p.m. onwards.

The film festival is organized by the Instituto Cervantes de Manila, the Embassy of Spain in the Philippines, the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, and La Liga in collaboration with Shangri-La Plaza's Red Carpet Theater, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the Philippine Transmarine Carriers, Inc.
