Bullet Dumas to hold comeback 'Nananatili' concert on June 8
Indie experimental folk artist Bullet Dumas is staging his comeback "Nananatili" concert on June 8, 7 p.m., at the Music Museum in San Juan almost six years after his "Usisa" concert in 2018.
Bullet first announced his concert back in April. He shared in short clips via social media in May that he did not want the concert to be a simple show, so he came up with new songs.
It just so happened that Gabi Na Naman Productions was also offering to mount a show, so he wanted the concert to be special.
He also shared the idea on why he named the concert "Nananatili," a word he found amazing due to its multiple meanings.
"I technically made a few songs about the whole concept. It's about death, grieving, love. When I started the year, andami kong kilala, andaming kong kilalang may kilala na nag pass away," he said.
He recalled one moment in particular, on the wake of the late theater director and professor Ricardo "Ricky" Abad, where he learned more about the man's life from the eulogies of his loved ones.
Bullet made his debut in theater in Ricardo's rock opera "2Bayani" in 2022, where Bullet starred as Andres Bonifacio.
He added that he didn't get to spend much time with Ricardo due to the pandemic, so hearing about his life from the words of his family and friends made him feel that the director was still around with them.
"Habang nagkekwento mga tao, dami mong na-oobserve, dami mong naririnig, parang alam mong nandito lang siya, nananatili lang din siya, nakikinig sa atin," he said then. "Naramdaman ko lang siya at I want to make a story out of it."
Tickets are still available for Bullet's "Nananatili concert," except for SVIP, which are already sold out. Tickets are priced at P3,800 for VIP, P2,800 for Orchestra, and P1,800 for Balcony.
Tickets may be purchased at the Music Museum and via Ticketmelon. GCash payments are accepted.
