'Sarimanok' by the Philippine Ballet Theatre soaring in July

The Philippine Ballet Theatre's (PBT) newest production is soaring soon.

For its 38th season, PBT will be celebrating Philippine heritage by staging its original full Filipino ballet, "Sarimanok," on July 6 (3 p.m. and 8 p.m.) and July 7 (3 p.m.) at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater, Circuit Makati.

Featuring original choreography and music, "Sarimanok" follows the story of a legendary mythical bird of the Maranao people in Mindanao as it unites a prince and his love, a moon goddess.

The bird of many colors is considered a symbol of hope, good fortune, and prosperity; its image is essential in Maranao art and culture.

Tickets are now available and priced at P360.50 for Balcony 2, P515 for Balcony 1, P1,545 for Loge, P2,060 for Orchestra Side, and P2,575 for Orchestra Center. These may be purchased via Ticketworld.com and outlets nationwide.
