'Practical Magic 2': Will Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock return for sequel?
Warner Bros. Pictures just announced that there will be a sequel to "Practical Magic" almost 26 years since Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock starred in the 1998 cult classic romantic fantasy.
Warner Bros. Pictures made the announcement via TikTok on June 10 with a short clip from the movie.
"It's official... Practical Magic 2 is coming!" said Warner Bros. Pictures.
On Instagram, the motion pictures company also said that the sequel is "in development and coming soon."
In the movie, Nicole and Sandra played the roles of spellcasting sisters Gillian and Sally Owens, two witches who come to live with their aunts after they are orphaned.
The women of the Owens family come from a long line of witches but suffer from a curse cast by their matriarch Maria Owens upon herself after she was abandoned by her lover when she got pregnant. Thus, every man who falls in love with an Owens woman dies an untimely death.
According to initial reports by Variety and Deadline, Sandra and Nicole are "in talks to return" for the sequel. Akiva Goldsman will also return to write the screenplay for the sequel, with Sandra and Nicole set to produce the movie with Denise Di Novi.
Aside from "Practical Magic," Sandra is known for the movies "Miss Congeniality," "Gravity," "28 Days," and more. She won Best Actress at the Academy Awards in 2010 for "The Blind Side."
Nicole on the other hand, is famous for the movies "Moulin Rouge!" "Cold Mountain," and "Eyes Wide Shut," among many others. She won Best Actress at the Academy Awards in 2003 for "The Hours," where she portrayed the late English writer Virginia Woolf.
