Margarita Fores' family announces wake details

Margarita Fores' wake services has been announced by her son, Amado, on Saturday.

According to an announcement posted on Instagram, on February 17, the Bahay na Puti in Cubao will be open to Margarita's and the Fores' hospitality teams from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

On February 18, family and friends may offer their their final farewell to Margarita, also at Bahay na Puti.

Finally, on February 19, the wake services will be open to the public from 11 a .m. to 10 p.m. at the New Frontier Theater.

Masses will be held at 7 p.m. on all days.

The announcement added that since Margarita was a cancer survivor who also rescued cats, in lieu of flowers, "a donation to the ICANSERVE Foundation Inc., or CARA Welfare Philippines Inc. will be much appreciated."

Meanwhile, her restaurants Lusso and Grace Park announced they will open at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 17 to allow the teams to pay their respects to the deceased chef.

Cibo on the other hand informed its social media followers that it will operate with limited staff on Monday to also give way to staff paying their respects to Margarita.

 

 

Amado announced on February 11 that Margarita Fores, the brilliant restaurateur and chef who gave us Cibo, Lusso, and Grace Park, to name a few of her restaurants, has died. She was 65.

In 2016, she was named Asia's Best Female Chef.

The news of Margarita's sudden passing shocked many Filipinos around the world. Plenty celebrities joined the culinary industry in mourning the death of an icon.
