Katrina Llegado grateful for ‘trendsetter’ feedback for her Miss Universe Philippines 2025 finals gown

Katrina Llegado has overflowing gratitude for the positive feedback she received for her Miss Universe Philippines 2025 finals gown.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Katrina said that her dress, designed by her long-time collaborator Pablo Mendez, was a “gold laser-cut mirror.”

“I went for the gold ‘cause I really feel that gold is my color. It really will accentuate my color, my tan skin, and will really pop [on] the stage talaga kaya ‘yun ‘yung ginamit kong color,” she said.

Crediting the design to Pablo, with whom she has worked since her first pageant, she praised his “really brilliant mind.”

“I’m so happy talaga na binigyan ko ng justice ‘yung design niya. And this one is really something out of the box sa pageant industry. Wala pa masyadong gumagamit ng ganitong material. This is something new and fresh,” she said.

It was the positive feedback surrounding this innovative design that particularly resonated with her.

“I really love the feedback from everyone na, ‘Talagang ito si Katrina Llegado, trendsetter.’ Another gown na talagang maraming magkakaroon ng inspiration with that one. And that’s really our goal. And I’m so happy ang daming naka-appreciate,” she said.

Katrina represented Taguig in the national competition. She was crowned Miss Supranational Philippines 2026.
