3,000 students in Camarines Sur receive school supplies from GMA Kapuso Foundation
Three thousand students in Libmanan, Canaman, and Magarao in Camarines Sur received school supplies from GMA Kapuso Foundation through its Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan project.
According to "24 Oras" Monday, among those who benefited from the project are Leizel Porsona's children, who walk almost two hours to get to school from their house in Sitio Canamoan.
This route, which passes through a mountain in their area, is the fastest way to school.
Her younger children in kindergarten and second grade have been using hand-me-down items from their older siblings for school. Liezel's husband, who works as a carpenter, also only earns P350 a day, an amount they try to budget as they prepare for the birth of their youngest.
GMA Kapuso Foundation distributed the school supplies to various schools in Libmanan, Canaman, and Magarao that were heavily affected by flooding caused by Typhoon Kristine back in October 2024, with a total of 3,000 students benefiting from the project.
For those who wish to support GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects, donations may be made via Metrobank, Land Bank, BDO, Bank of Commerce, UnionBank, PNB, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Lazada, and Shopee. Visit the GMA Kapuso Foundation website for more information.
