Anjo Pertierra spotlights affected citizens, GMA staff and crew in typhoon coverage

"Unang Hirit" host and weatherman Anjo Pertierra is among the journalists braving the heavy rains and floods to keep the public informed.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Anjo shared photos from his coverage, spotlighting the Filipinos whose homes were affected by the destructive flood.

"Mahirap ang trabaho pero mas mahirap ang sitwasyon nila," he said. "Para sa inyo po ang lahat ng ito. Susuyurin at magbabalita saan man."

He also gave a shoutout to the GMA Integrated News workers behind the cameras.

"Lupit ng crew at staff wala ring inuurungan," Anjo said.

Emong weakened into a severe tropical storm on Friday morning as it made landfall over Candon City, Ilocos Sur, according to PAGASA.

The reported death toll due to Tropical Cyclones Crising, Dante, Emong and the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat has increased to 25 as of Friday morning. 

A state of calamity was declared in 84 cities and municipalities.
