'Pride and Prejudice' series adaptation now underway on Netflix
Production has officially commenced on Dolly Alderton's six-part series adaptation of Jane Austen's classic novel, "Pride and Prejudice," with Euros Lyn directing.
On Wednesday, Netflix gave a first look into the project, also unveiling its complete cast lineup.
Joining Emma Corrin and Jack Lowden as Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, respectively, are Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet, Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet, Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet, Rhea Norwood as Lydia Bennet, Hopey Parish as Mary Bennet, and Hollie Avery as Kitty Bennet.
Other cast members are Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins, Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley, Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham, Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley, and Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
The series will also star Anjana Vasan as Mrs. Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto as Mr. Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber as Mrs. Hurst, James Dryden as Mr. Hurst, Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster, and Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy.
"Alderton and Lyn's take will hew closely to the original text, reuniting existing fans with the timeless 1813 novel, while also introducing a new generation to Austen," Netflix said.
Production is currently underway in the United Kingdom.
