Is Fifi Sharma open to joining beauty pageants? Volleyball star answers

Some fans see the potential in Fifi Sharma to follow the footsteps of her fellow De La Salle University alumna Michelle Gumabao: a volleyball star entering the world of pageantry.

On Monday's episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda," the King of Talk asked Fifi if she is open to joining beauty pageants.

Fifi actually got exposed to pageantry last year, when she served as one of the judges of Binibining Pilipinas.

"Before po nun, 'di po talaga ako nanonood ng pageants or I had no interest in pageantry whatsoever.
Pero after ko po nag-judge, nakita ko po, parang nakaka-inspire sila," Fifi said.

"Sixtieth anniversary ng Binibini 'yun so everybody was there. They were so pretty, they were so confident. Parang nakaka-inspire na to see women as confident as them," she added. "I see it as a possibility but not in the near future po siguro."

Fifi currently plays for Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League and is also a member of the Philippine national team. In college, she won a UAAP championship with the DLSU Lady Spikers in 2023.

Michelle, meanwhile, won three championships with La Salle from 2011 to 2013. She joined the Binibining Pilipinas 2018 and represented the country in the Miss Globe pageant the same year.

She also joined the Miss Universe Philippines 2020 and finished as second runner-up, behind Rabiya Mateo and Maria Ysabella Ysmael. —MGP, GMA Integrated News
