Vicky Morales wins Presenter of the Year at 2025 AIB Awards in London

Vicky Morales has been named as the Presenter of the Year (Video) at the 2025 Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) Awards held in London.

According to Saleema Refran’s report on “24 Oras” on Monday, the award-winning Kapuso journalist was recognized for her outstanding coverage of Pope Francis’ passing in Vatican City, the papal conclave, the 2025 midterm elections, and her in-depth exploration of pressing social issues affecting marginalized communities in her special news documentary, “Biyaheng Totoo.”

In a video message that aired on "24 Oras," Vicky expressed her gratitude to the AIBs for the honor, which came as she celebrated her 30th year in the media industry.

“From the bottom of my heart, a huge thank you to our generous colleagues at AIB for such a great honor. This is definitely a career highlight for me as well as the conclaves I’ve covered over the course of my work,” she said.

Reflecting on her decades-long career, Vicky highlighted the challenges and responsibilities of being a journalist.

“You know, all around the world we cover stories that make us angry, sad, triumphant, and glad, but our job as journalists is to harness all these emotions and turn them into positive action whether it's rallying a nation to stand up to corruption or urging them to move to safer ground, to seek cover from a super typhoon,” Vicky added.

Aside from Vicky, GMA Public Affairs’ "The Atom Araullo Specials: POGOLAND" won Best Documentary under Domestic Affairs at the 2025 AIB Awards.

The multi-awarded documentary, hosted by Atom Araullo, investigated the underworld of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs that were used as scam hubs and human trafficking dens

Established in 2004, the AIB Awards recognize the highest standards in journalism and factual productions across video, audio, and digital platforms.
