Kara David among Cosmopolitan's Women of Influence 2026
Kara David has been recognized as one of Cosmopolitan's Women of Influence 2026.
In an Instagram reel, Cosmopolitan shared a video of the Kapuso journalist delivering her acceptance speech during the awarding ceremony on Tuesday.
In her speech, David reflected on her three-decade career in journalism, describing it as a "blessing."
"Alam n'yo po I have been a journalist for the past 30 years. So 30 years, tatlong dekada na po akong mamamahayag and I consider it a blessing to have been given a platform to amplify women's voices through my TV documentaries," she said.
David also stressed that everyone, regardless of gender, deserves a voice in society.
"Pero sabi nga ni Audre Lorde, isang feminist writer, 'I am not free until all women are free.' Babae man o lalaki, ano man ang kasarian, karapatan ng lahat ng tao na magkaroon ng boses sa lipunan," David said.
She also vowed her commitment to shedding light on corruption, inequality, child labor, and abuse against women.
"Kaya makakaasa po kayo na hangga't may tiwali sa pamahalaan, hangga't may mga maliliit na pinagkaitan ng karapatan, hangga't may mga batang kailangan pang magtrabaho para lang makapag-aral, hangga't may mga babaeng inaabuso, hindi po ako titigil at hindi tayo dapat tumigil sa pagkukwento."
In a separate Instagram story, David shared a photo of her plaque. She also posed with other winners such as Bela Padilla, Che Ocampo, Rochelle Bravo, Dr. Rica Cruz, indie singer Syd Hartha, Steph Naval, Jessica De Mesa-Lim, and Hannah Pangilinan.
David previously received the Excellence Award in Media and Research Communication at St. Dominic College of Asia Stardom Awards 2026.
In December 2025, she was one of the awardees honored at the Most Outstanding Kapampangan Awards (MOKA) 2025.
David currently hosts the GMA Public Affairs podcast, "I-Listen," as well as the award-winning documentary show "I-Witness," and the infotainment show "Pinas Sarap."
