Joy Barcoma says goodbye as Miss Philippines Earth 2025 with no farewell walk
Joy Barcoma is closing her reign as Miss Philippines Earth without the traditional farewell walk.
In a Facebook post on Saturday morning, the beauty queen said she regardless remains proud of the legacy and advocacy she carried throughout her journey.
“If there is one thing I am ultimately proud of— it is that I devoted myself to making this reign meaningful,” Joy said. “I maximized every platform I was given and I pursued every opportunity to serve, even if it meant walking much of that journey on my own.”
Joy shared that her experience reminded her that support does not always come from every corner, even within the spaces she represented.
Despite this, she said she chose to carry the title with “grace, respect, and gratitude.”
“That is how I carried this title, and that is how I choose to leave it,” Joy said.
The beauty queen also expressed her gratitude to the Miss Philippines Earth Organization and encouraged everyone to continue supporting the pageant’s mission beyond the crown.
“This platform has never been about a queen. It has always been about a mission greater than ourselves. A mission to protect our planet, uplift our communities, and inspire others to become stewards of the Earth. Let us also support the next queen the same way you have all supported and loved my journey.”
Addressing the absence of a farewell walk during the end of her reign, Joy turned the moment into a reflection on what truly defines a queen’s impact.
“Tonight, I may not have a farewell walk,” she said. “But perhaps that is the greatest reminder that a legacy is never measured by the number of steps she takes on stage but by footprints she leaves in the lives of others.”
She did not disclose the reason behind the absence of a farewell walk.
Joy ended her message by reaffirming her connection to the title that shaped her journey.
“Thank you, everyone, for changing my life. I will always and forever be an Earth Queen,” she said.
Joy was crowned Miss Philippines Earth in August 2025 . She finished her Miss Earth journey at the Top 8.
She is part of “The People Have Spoken” as a celebri-peep and currently an “Unang Hirit” host-mate.
