More than 2M join world's largest NYC Pride parade

NEW YORK - More than 2 million people gathered on Sunday (New York time) for the New York City Pride Parade, the world's largest LGBT+ Pride celebration.

Organizers chose the theme "For All of Us" to underscore the importance of collective liberation and to express solidarity with transgender and nonbinary communities amid growing restrictions and challenges they face.

Approximately 75,000 marchers representing more than 700 registered groups participated in the parade, which proceeded along Fifth Avenue from 28th Street before concluding near the historic Greenwich Village area.

The parade culminated near The Stonewall Inn, the historic landmark at 53 Christopher Street in Greenwich Village that became the birthplace of the modern LGBT+ rights movement following the June 1969 Stonewall Uprising.

Filipino Americans also took part in the celebration, with members of various Filipino LGBT+ organizations joining thousands of marchers in demonstrating pride, equality, and solidarity.
