Typhoon Inday: Malls offer free overnight parking, charging stations, and shelter

Several malls in the Philippines are opening their doors to help the public as Typhoon Inday (international name: Bavi) continues to affect parts of the country.

Aside from waiving overnight parking fees, many malls are also providing access to charging stations, restrooms, free Wi-Fi, and designated waiting areas for those seeking temporary shelter.

Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Romando Artes also issued a memorandum on Thursday, requesting all shopping mall operators to open the parking spaces in their facilities in Luzon to the public for overnight parking.

The measure shall take effect beginning July 9 in the evening until the passage of the typhoon.

Here's a list of malls offering assistance for today, July 8:

Festival Mall (Muntinlupa)

Festival Mall announced that it can serve as a temporary safe shelter for those affected by Typhoon Inday.

Guests may use:

  • Free overnight parking at Promenade Parking and Bridgeway Parking
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Charging stations
  • Restrooms

Fora Filinvest Mall (Tagaytay)

Fora Mall in Tagaytay remains open on Thursday and is offering:

  • Free overnight parking
  • Charging stations
  • Restroom access

Robinsons Antipolo

Robinsons Antipolo is providing:

  • Free overnight parking on July 9
  • Charging stations
  • Temporary shelter for those affected by the typhoon

South Park Center (Muntinlupa)

South Park Center announced that the following amenities will remain available beyond mall operating hours until Typhoon Inday passes:

  • Free overnight parking
  • Designated waiting areas
  • Charging stations
  • Restrooms

Starmall San Jose del Monte

Starmall San Jose del Monte opened selected areas of the mall to provide:

  • Free overnight parking
  • Restrooms
  • Power outlets for charging
  • Free Wi-Fi

SM Supermalls

Aside from free overnight parking in participating branches, SM Supermalls also announced that several malls are serving as temporary shelters for customers and nearby residents affected by Super Typhoon Inday and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

Malabon CitiSquare Mall is offering free overnight parking to help motorists and nearby residents prepare for the possible effects of Super Typhoon Inday.

Motorists are advised to proceed to the mall's Open Parking Area.

Robinsons Townville Buhay na Tubig

Robinsons Townville Buhay na Tubig announced that it will offer free overnight parking on July 9 due to Super Typhoon Inday.

S Maison at Conrad Manila

S Maison at Conrad Manila is opening its doors to customers and nearby residents affected by Super Typhoon Inday and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

The mall is offering free overnight parking, free Wi-Fi, charging stations, help desk, and temporary shelter.
