'House of the Dragon': Benjamin Evan Ainsworth officially introduced as Daeron Targaryen

A new character has been unlocked in "House of the Dragon" Season 3: Prince Daeron Targaryen, the third son and youngest child of King Viserys Targaryen and Queen Alicent Hightower.

In the latest episode of the series, the young man played by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth was revealed as Daeron after a fake one was sent to Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen as a prisoner.

On Instagram, the British actor posted photos from the episode to mark his entrance in the story.

"Officially Team Green," he said. "It's an honor to join the amazing team on [House of the Dragon] as Daeron Targaryen."

He also mentioned his character's epithet in "Fire and Blood," Daeron the Daring.

Daeron did not appear in the first two seasons of the series, and the character was only mentioned last season.

He was sent to House Hightower in Oldtown as ward when he was an infant, but he is the rider of the she-dragon Tessarion.

"House of the Dragon" Season 3 is now streaming on exclusively HBO Max with new episodes every Monday.

The series is about the conflict between two branches of the Targaryen dynasty, the Blacks and the Greens, for the Iron Throne.
