Serena Williams graces cover of Vogue with baby daughter

Tennis superstar Serena Williams is on the cover of next month's issue of Vogue, the magazine revealed on its social media accounts on Wednesday.

The photograph was taken by Mario Testino and features Williams—fittingly for Valentine's month, in a red outfit—holding her now-four-month-old baby Alexis Olympia Ohanian, her first child with husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

In a post on her own Instagram account, Williams said that the cover brought tears to her eyes. "All Vogue covers are special but to share this one with my beautiful daughter...also the youngest Vogue cover star, makes it moment I will never forget. The article is a must read," her caption reads.

In the article, Williams talks about a medical emergency that occurred the day after she gave birth, and about both the joys and challenges of motherhood.

Widely regarded as the greatest female tennis player of all time, and by many as the greatest tennis player in history as well, Williams has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles—the most by any player in the Open Era—and has been ranked number one on the WTA tour at various points since 2002 for a total of 319 weeks. — BM, GMA News
