Meet Gringo.
He was rescued from a fire by Philippine Red Cross volunteers three years ago and had since been staying at the organization’s headquarters.
Emergency Response Unit manager Leo Ebajo says they often bring Gringo to their trainings, not to train him but as their companion.
But the dog learned quickly on his own to help clear the road for the Red Cross’ emergency vehicles.
“Sinasama namin pag may training. Nagulat na lang kami tuwing lalabas 'yung firetruck or rescue truck, kumakahol 'yan. Tinataboy niya 'yung mga sasakyan,” Ebajo said.
The dog that was rescued three years ago now helps in rescue operations.
“Tumutulong po 'yan. Hindi 'yan trained namin. Kusa po na na-develop po siya,” Ebajo added. — BM, GMA News
