'Encantadia' sang’gres reunite at Iza and Ben’s wedding


Actor Iza Calzado tied the knot with Ben Wintle in Coron, Palawan on Wednesday and her sister Sang’gres from Encantadia, Diana Zubiri, Sunshine Dizon and Karylle, were there.

At the wedding proper, the four beautiful ladies looked fresh and fabulous in their nude garb.

 

Of course, there was a special Sang’gre segment at the reception. Karyll serenaded the couple with her rendition of “A Thousand Years.”

Meanwhile, Sunshine gave Iza the diamond bracelet that was given her by the bride’s mom, who had passed away, for safekeeping until Iza got married.

 

“This is a very special day. This diamond bracelet was your mom’s. I was made to hold on to it and keep it safe but now, I’m giving it back to you…I know it is something that you will treasure forever. I love you very much,” director Quark Henares captured the moment on Instagram Stories.

In a separate post, Sunshine shared how their friendship blossomed in the entertainment industry.

“Her first teleserye was ‘Kung Mawawala Ka’ where she played the villain alongside me. Iza had so much potential. Perfect face, raw talent but back then she had so many issues about her weight that I think she forgot to look beyond it. But the network really saw something in her…Iza and I did a lot of shows together after that. I met Iza when were little girls. Tatay Lito directed or sometimes floor directed tv specials back then and if I remember it right Iza was also part of the cast or would sometimes just accompany Tatay. She wasn’t really into showbiz back then, Years later she made it big doing a shampoo commercial and started dabbling into acting. Her first teleserye was “KUNG MAWAWALA KA” were she played the villain along side me. Iza had so much potential. Perfect Face, Raw talent but back then she had so many issues about her weight that I think she forgot to look beyond it. But the network really saw something in her. I remember when she was doing her first solo starring show which was “Te Amo” one night she called me up crying because she felt out of place, unsure of what she’s doing, doubting herself and people closest to her knows how Izadora cries like a baby. I told her its ok, you’re going to be ok, also spoke with the late Inang Chris Adalia to reassure them that shes fine and its just the nerves getting her, fortunately they were patient with her and she proved them that she was worth it. Iza and i did a lot of shows together after that. We are the original love team, and i saw how she blossomed into the fine actor that she is today. We also went through a lot together. Happy, Crazy, Roller coaster of emotions and a lot of really just plain fun. Not everyone knows but we actually had a short falling out few years back but thankfully our bond as sisters surpassed it all. Iza knows she is more than a friend a to me, Iza is family. Ga now that you’re facing a new chapter believe me when i say that everything that happened in your life is GOD preparing you for this, for now. You have survived and surpassed so much and came out of it whole and a better person. You have blossomed gracefully. And with Ben by your side there is nothing you won’t accomplish and achieve. Always know that you will always have me as your sister, friend and cheer leader. Remember when I said that Ben could be your once in a life time guy? Im really glad you made the right choice ????
