A Netflix online survey revealed that 72% of Filipinos believe in soulmates — even those who haven't been in a relationship.
Netflix conducted an online survey among 800 Filipino video streamers, ages 18 to 34 across the country and learned that Pinoys are hopeless romantics. The data shows 89% of Filipinos say romance is very much alive in the Philippines and 68% believe they've already found "The One."
But love isn't love without its lows: 1 in 5 Filipinos in a relationship think their partners are not their soulmates and 65% say they've had their hearts broken by someone they didn't officially date.
Where do broken hearts go for comfort? According to their survey, 52% turn to friends and family, while 29% watch romantic movies and shows to aid their wrecked hearts. A good 63% still believe that laughter is the best medicine so they soak themselves into watching comedy films, series.
"Netflix and chill" is a very real thing in the Philippines, with 63% of respondents preferring to do just that with their SO's. About 44% of men and 23% of women meanwhile have used the phrase to start their move; As in: "Do you wanna Netflix and chill?"
