Kris Aquino pays tribute to Ninoy, the '1st man who gave me courage'
As the nation spends Wednesday remembering Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino Jr., his youngest daughter Kris Aquino shared a heart-felt message in loving memory of her father.
In her first Instagram post in honor of the late senator, Kris shared a photo of her with her dad, mom, and older sister Ballsy saying, "In loving remembrance of the 1st man who gave me the courage & the wings to BELIEVE in my dreams."
"Dad knew how to make people feel special and important. Mom knew how to make us feel protected and encouraged us to be the best versions of ourselves. God blessed me way more than I deserved," Kris continued.
In a separate post, she shared how Ninoy, though he didn't get to see Kris' first commercial, first television show, and first movie, believed all those firsts "would one day happen."
"Ang mom pagsasabihan pa siya, 'dad, don’t get her hopes up.' But HE would whisper to me 'beautiful, you’ll be on tv and starring in movies, and signing autographs...'," Kris recollected.
"Siguro po kaya hindi ako sumusuko sa LABAN ng buhay kasi number 1 lesson ng dad: kung choice mo ang public life, whether in politics or entertainment, bawal ang pikon. 2nd rule: life should be lived guided by the principle of addition and never subtraction," she added.
At the end of her message, Kris said, "Dad, I am infinitely proud that i’m yours and mom’s, BABY."
