Check out if you're the mood spoiler of the group

Dear Beer Drinker,

It’s so nice to see you again. I see you've had another stressful week at work and you're here to relax with your friends. You've been regulars in this bar for as long as I can remember, so I know you’re about to ask for your first of maybe five buckets of beer. I’m quite familiar with your group. Feeling ko nga minsan close na tayo. Most times you’re here, you come out happier than when you came in. There are times, however, when your resident 'personalities' would just douse the fun with their classic behaviors. 'Kala mo di ko pansin? Here, let me run down your clique's cast of characters for you:

The Sleeper

He is a fast drinker and then falls asleep midway through your night out, missing the rest of the night's happenings. He usually takes the first bottle and downs it like water. Next thing you know, his head is down because he’s had one too many too soon and has fallen asleep. It’s always an early nightcap for this pal and you wonder why he even showed up just to sleep through the conversations in the first place. Hassle, pre.

The Hyper Mister

If the sleeper conks out too early, this one needs a village to be contained once he gets going. You're always on high alert when he’s with you because he can go wild even with just a couple of drinks. Parang may sapi. He’s relatively harmless, but indisputably loud. Hats off to your crew for always keeping him out of security's reach every time he causes a ruckus.

The Vlogger

She is the one who is always on her phone. Social media influencer, is she? All I see is a girl who barely looks up to talk, but suddenly halts the conversation for group photos and insta updates. You also have to take her requisite OOTD photo as soon as she arrives, no matter your drinking session state. There was even a time when I saw you even if I wasn’t there because you were all on her FB Live.

The Hijacker

Alas, the ultimate persona of your party. This person can never be trumped in any conversation. He will interrupt you while you’re talking about your last vacation to talk about his own vacay in that place. He has taken disruption to the next level: No matter what you say, he has to interject his own personal experience, with emphasis on how much better it is than your own. In Tagalog, bangka. Barko na nga yata. He is so much like this character in San Mig Light’s new episode about Mga Panira ng Usapan:

Don’t get me wrong, I like your group. Yours is an even mix of personalities that concludes each mahaba-habang inuman in a harmonious one-for-the-road send off on most nights. For good times' sake, maybe these standouts need to tone down their signature moves to make more mahaba-habang usapan with your favorite San Mig Light. Baka lang naman.

Cheers,

Chief (ang tawag ninyong lahat sa akin)
