Kris Bernal's Lakers-themed birthday party for fiance, where he also ended up proposing

Kris Bernal wasn't going to let her fiance's 36th birthday pass without a bang.

The Kapuso actress surprised chef Perry Choi with a Lakers-themed birthday party earlier this February — only for him to surprise her right back with a marriage proposal.

Kris gave an up-close look at the event decorations on Instagram. Photos show the venue decorated with purple and orange, the basketball team's colors.

There were balloons on the ceiling and basketballs on the floor, and there was even a trophy that has Perry's name on it.

The couple got engaged on February 6.
