Sheena Halili reveals husband Jeron Manzanero actually proposed to her twice

Sheena Halili's husband Jeron Manzanero actually asked her hand in marriage not once but twice.

Everybody knew of the wedding proposal inside the cinema but little did we know that Jeron popped the question a second time, in a more intimate set up during his birthday in 2018 at a restaurant in Hong Kong.

The Kapuso actress said six months after their cinema engagement, Jeron said he wanted to celebrate his birthday in  Hong Kong, not telling Sheena about the planned second proposal.

"Eto yung trip na puwede kong gawin na kaming dalawa lang, so plinano ko talaga," Jeron said in the video. "Kasi para sa 'kin, I want to tell her kung ano 'yong nararamdamn ko talaga."

"Gusto ko marinig 'yong matamis niyang oo na walang ibang nakakarinig," he added.

Instead of popping the same question, Jeron asked Sheena if she was sure when she said yes to his marriage proposal six months ago.

"Kasi baka napilitan ka lang kasi pinalakpakan tayo. Sigurado ka ba? Kasi eto tayong dalawa na lang," Jeron narrated.

Jeron said it also became the perfect time to talk about their future plans. 

"At least 'eto ngayon ano bang mga gusto mong baguhin? Ano bang mga gusto mo sa buhay natin para puwede natin pag-usapan talaga mga magiging buhay natin in the future."

The restaurant served a dessert with the words "Will you marry me, Sheena?" written in chocolate syrup.

"Sabi ko bakit ka nag-dessert ang mahal-mahal," Sheena said, "Tapos sabi niya tignan mo naman yung dessert.

"Tinignan ko, tapos may 'will you marry me, Sheena?'" she continued.

"Tapos tumatawa ako, di kasi sabi niya gusto niya mag-speech. Tawa rin kami nang tawa."

The two failed to have their private moment because the restaurant staff was aware of the proposal. 

Sheena said she felt like the most beautiful girl in the world when Jeron proposed to her the second time.

"Dalawang beses lumuhod ah? Feeling ko talaga kahit sinong i-harap mo kay Jeron feeling ko si Lord talaga si Sheena lang ang maganda," Sheena joked.

Jeron said even at the beginning of their relationship he already treated Sheena as his wife.

"I treated Sheena as my wife at that time. I treated her as my partner na talaga na there's no letting go, uwi na ako talaga nang mas maaga. Lahat na talaga sinasabi ko sa kanya."

"Prinactice ko talaga 'yong pagiging husband and nun naramdaman ko nga na kaya ko and mas masaya pala 'to doon ko na nasabi na ready na ako magpakasal," he said.

"Maski sa family ko ininvolve ko na talaga siya. Ni-ready ko na 'yong sarili ko. Lahat ng mga decisions ko maski longterm considered ko na rin siya," Jeron added.

Sheena and Jeron tied the knot on February 23 in a Christian wedding ceremony at The Blue Leaf events place. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
