Celebrity moms launch donation drive to help fellow mothers, babies amid quarantine

Celebrity moms have gotten together to start a donation drive for parents and babies amid the enhanced community quarantine.

Iya Arellano, Camille Prats, LJ Reyes, Chynna Ortaleza, and Chariz Solomon launched the "Project: Alalay Kay Nanay" to help mothers feed their kids.

According to Aubrey Carampel's report for "24 Oras," the group raised P67,500 in just one day.

"Since most relief goods are not baby-friendly and most moms and parents are on a daily wage salary basis, they need help to buy baby essentials," Camille said on Instagram.

Iya said they also want to help children with special needs who have to take medicines to manage their condition.

Recently, a man went viral for giving cash to his fellow market-goer, who used the money to buy milk for his baby.

At least 1.2 million workers have temporarily lost their jobs due to the measures imposed to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
