2019 Bar topnotcher Azores said yes to lovelife after taking licensure exam
The topnotcher of the 2019 Bar examinations on Thursday said she had time to commit to her lovelife only after she took the licensure test last November.
"After na po ng exams... first boyfriend po kasi pinapanalangin talaga ng nanay ko daw na habang nag-aaral ako sana wala para hindi ma-distract," Mae Diane Azores said, in between laughs, during an interview on GMA News' Unang Balita.
"Mayroon na po. Puwede na," she added.
Azores, also a certified public accountant, works as an auditor at the regional office of the Commission on Audit in Bicol.
During her law school years at the University of Santo Tomas-Legazpi, she diligently studied while working at the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
"Inisip ko talaga kailangan mayroon akong schedule sa pag-aaral at saka sabi ko talaga kailangan may disiplina para mag-stick doon sa schedule," she said.
While reviewing for the Bar in Manila, Azores said she wakes up 4 a.m. to study for 10 to 12 hours straight. After studying, she also makes time to catch up with her family and friends.
The incoming lawyer said she was just hoping to be part of the Top 10 but did not expect she would land on the first spot.
Azores reminded aspiring lawyers that aside from discipline and perseverance, another important thing has been part of her journey.
"Kailangan talaga samahan ng prayer kasi kung desidido ka talagang maging abugado, God will give it to you in His perfect time," she said.
Azores had a rating of 91.0490% in the 2019 Bar exams wherein only 27.36 of the takers—2,103 out of 7,685—passed. — Dona Magsino/RSJ, GMA News
