Construction worker's family living under QC bridge begs for food after losing income amid quarantine
A construction worker's family living under a bridge in Quezon City has been begging on the streets for food after losing income amid the enhanced community quarantine.
In Mariz Umali's report on "24 Oras," the construction worker said that he would earn only P350 pesos a day when he still had a job.
However, this was not enough to feed his entire family because they also had to pay off their debt.

Now that he could not work, the family is having an even more difficult time surviving every day.
Many people who temporarily lost their livelihoods due to the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) now depend on government aid.
The family lives in a makeshift house built with wood and plastic under the bridge and near a river. They share the space with around 50 other people.

They received relief goods from their barangay but this was enough for only three to four days.
"Mahirap umasa sa gobyerno," the wife said. "Sa iba nga po napapanood nga namin hindi sila mabigyan, kami pa po dito na di nakalista sa barangay."
She said that things would be different for her and her family if only her husband would get his job back.
"Gusto namin makabalik 'yung trabaho ng asawa namin para kahit paaano di na kami namamalimos sa taas. Di kami pakalat-kalat," she said. —Kaela Malig/MGP, GMA News
