75-year-old lola with failing eyesight finds joy in making TikTok videos

A 75-year-old grandmother from Marilao, Bulacan, has been delighting netizens during the lockdown with her viral TikTok videos.

GMA-7’s “Unang Hirit” checked in with Lola Norma Mandanas, and it was revealed that she began losing her eyesight as a complication of diabetes.

“Unang Hirit” extended financial assistance to help pay for her maintenance medication, as well as the family’s expenses.

The “Lola Tiktoker” also took the opportunity to thank her son Amiel for taking the time to help her make the videos.

“Pagkatapos niya ng trabaho, ayun matiyaga niya akong tinuturuan!”

Amiel was likewise very proud of his mom not just for bringing joy to people during the lockdown, but also for inspiring other people battling health issues and old age.

“Proud na proud po ako kasi nakakagiliwan po siya ng mga tao, tapos nagiging insipirasyon din po siya para sa mga kagaya po niya na kahit hindi na po nakakakita, at least meron pa po silang way para makapagpasaya parin ng tao, tapos masaya po sila,” he said. – Margaret Claire Layug/RC, GMA News
