Megan Young, Mikael Daez talk managing money as a married couple in latest vlog

Megan Young and Mikael Daez dished out details on their financial style as a married couple in the latest episode of their podcast.

According to the Kapuso couple, the two of them have two separate accounts. All the expenses come from Mikael's account while all their savings go into Megan's account.

"So let's say may pay slip ako from GMA. [That] goes into my account but yun nga, all credit card expenses, household, groceries, miscellaneous, coffee that comes from me and Bonez, makikita niyo puro income lang pumpasok puro deposit lang," Mikael explained.

The couple said they have been doing this for four years even before they got married which is why they got used to this type of financial style.

Mikael said what's good about their set-up is the "organization, clarity, and good vibes."

"Imagine you have an account na walang lumalabas na pera, puro income lang? And sometimes you forget about it because there are some months I just look at my account kasi that's the only active account out there and all the checks just passively and automatically go into Bonez's account," Mikael explained.

"So when we look back into Bonez's account, we're like 'oh my god! Ang daming na save kasi walang expenses doon sa account na 'yon.' Para sa amin, may psychological effect rin siya na ang saya rin sa feeling," he added.

"I think those two are the most prominent motivations for using this style of finance, so organization and clarity and good vibes."

For Mikael and Megan savings are part of their "unavoidable expenses" along with rent, household expenses, electricity, water, and groceries.

The two said they would always discuss the practicality of an item before purchasing, which is always a smart thing to do. — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
