Mikael Daez reveals how he asked Megan Young to be his girlfriend

Megan Young and Mikael Daez have revealed yet another interesting thing about their relationship.

In the latest episode of their podcast titled “Ligawan 101,” the Kapuso couple talked about the “very spontaneous” moment when Mikael asked Megan to be his girlfriend.

“It was my birthday and we had a good night out. We were in the parking lot and naramdaman ko na at that point like in my head and in my heart, I was like 'Tanungin ko na 'to. Feel ko lang ngayon 'eh',” Mikael said.

"And that was me coming out of my shell kasi at that time, very conservative ako 'di ba? This was me evolving like a Pokemon,” he added.

“May super short, spontaneous speech ako na sinabi and I said 'Will you be my girlfriend,'" he said.

Megan, on the other hand, brought up a memory that Mikael has not recalled in over five years: The first time he held her hand.

It happened during a night out with friends, after which Mikael gave Megan a ride home.

"We had pictures pa of this night and you held my hand in Ponti, and here lang (at the wrist), and I was like 'Oh my god, electricity! He held my hand, what's up?' and then I was like, 'Besh (to a friend), hinawakan ni Mikael 'yung kamay ko, lol'," Megan recalled.

This sent Mikael into a daze. "Oh my gosh," he said. "I remember. I even remember your look and your face and your makeup."

Apparently, Mikael held her hand as they were crossing the road to his car, and Megan said she felt a jolt of "electricity" the second their hands touched.

"And so we were going home na and we were crossing the street and you took my hand, and I was like "Sparks are flying right now," I'm kilig right now!" Megan told Mikael.

"So that was the first time that Mikael ever held my hand, and we were crossing the street to get to his car. You had the black car pa, I remember, and I was like, 'Wow that felt so nice. He held my hand across the road'," she added.

The couple shared giggles, and Mikael pointed out: "Naiiyak si Bonez." And Megan explained: "Oo, sa kilig." — Margaret Claire Layug/LA, GMA News
